Itinerary

MORNING | HANOI – PU LUONG (L)
06:30 AM - Pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter.

Begin the approximately 4-hour drive to Pu Luong Nature Reserve. A short 15-minute rest stop is included near Cuc Phuong National Park before continuing into the mountains.

CHOOSE YOUR PU LUONG EXPERIENCE
You can choose the route that best matches what you would like to experience in Pu Luong.

Option 1: Cave & Mountain Valleys
For travellers who want dramatic limestone scenery and one of Pu Luong's most impressive natural sights.

11:00 AM - Kho Muong Village

Arrive in Pu Luong and meet your local guide before continuing to Kho Muong, a quiet village tucked deep beneath the limestone mountains.

Take some time to walk through the village and see everyday life in this remote part of the reserve. Then follow the trail into Bat Cave, a large limestone cave hidden beneath the mountains. The cave is one of the most striking natural features around Kho Muong, with its high ceiling and limestone formations.

01:00 PM - Back to the Valley

Leave Kho Muong and follow the mountain road back towards Don Village.

The climb out of the valley is one of the more demanding sections of the day, before the road opens back into the wider Pu Luong landscape.

Option 2: Village Life & Rice Fields
For travellers who prefer a more relaxed day around village life, rice fields, water wheels and local crafts.

10:30 AM - Water Wheels & Village Life

Arrive in Pu Luong and meet your local guide. Cross a suspension bridge and enter one of the valley's most scenic farming areas, where a large stream runs through the village and traditional water wheels still help move water to the rice fields.

Take a leisurely walk through the countryside, passing rice terraces, village houses and everyday farming life. Cross the dam at Chieng Lau and continue along a gentle loop through the fields and villages.

Along the way, your guide will introduce you to some of the plants, bamboo and everyday traditions that are part of mountain life in Pu Luong.

01:00 PM - Continue to Don Village

Reach the main road and continue to Don Village for lunch.

Both options continue with the same afternoon itinerary from here.
AFTERNOON | PU LUONG – HANOI
01:30 PM - Lunch with a Valley View

Arrive in Don Village and enjoy a set-menu lunch overlooking the valley. Drinks are at your own expense. Please let us know about any dietary requirements when booking.

After lunch, take a scenic drive through the Don valley with a stop at one of Pu Luong's iconic rice terrace viewpoints.

Continue to Lan Village, one of the valley's largest Thai villages. Take a relaxed walk around the village or choose an optional bicycle ride through its quiet lanes.

Meet local people and see traditional Thai brocade weaving, learning more about a craft that is still part of everyday life here.

04:00–04:30 PM - Return to Hanoi

Say goodbye to your local guide and begin the journey back to Hanoi.

A short rest stop is included along the way. Arrive in Hanoi around 8:00–8:30 PM, depending on traffic. Your private day trip ends at your hotel.
