1. FROM HANOI

As there is currently a high demand from both domestic and international visitors to explore Pu Luong Nature Reserve, access is convenient. Our First Class Xpress bus departs daily at 7AM from the Hanoi Opera House. If your hotel is in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, you can reach our office at #13 Hang Muoi by 6:45 AM for the first pickup point. Within the area, walking is more reasonable than taking a taxi to the Opera House. Expecting arrival in Pu Luong by 11:30 AM, with a break halfway through the journey.
The bus will drop you off at Gateway Inn Pu Luong, next to the entrance of Don village, the epicenter of the tourist area, only 200 meters away from Puluong Retreat. Additionally, the shuttle bus to Pu Luong can drop you off at hotels along the way to Bang village, such as Pu Luong Casa, Pu Luong Bocbandi Retreat, Pu Luong Eco Garden, or Central Hills Pu Luong Resort, with the last stop.
For the return shuttle bus from Pu Luong to Hanoi, guest pick-ups will start at 1:15 PM from Central Hills Pu Luong Resort and then proceeding to other hotels along the route. Departure from the meeting point at Gateway Inn Pu Luong is at 1:00 PM, with an expected arrival time in Hanoi at 6:00 PM. Please note that city traffic conditions may occasionally cause slight delays.
The bus offers a high level of comfort with reclining leather seats, wifi connection, and a complimentary bottle of water. The shuttle bus to Pu Luong takes the fastest route via the Ho Chi Minh road. If your hotel is located in Don village, such as Pu Luong Natura Bungalows or Pu Luong Tree House, First Class Xpress will arrange a convenient drop-off using a small van or motorbike.

Private transfer to Pu Luong
This is the most convenient way to travel, allowing you to be picked up at where you want in Hanoi and at your chosen time. You also have the flexibility to decide on the route to Pu Luong. As mentioned in our Pu Luong Travel guide, you can arrive via Mai Chau, Son Ba Muoi, or take the same route as the shuttle bus through the Ho Chi Minh Road. The trip will last between 4 to 5 hours, depending on the chosen route and the number of stops you wish to make. Opting for a private car provides more freedom, with options for 4 or 7-seater cars, as well as 11 or 16-seater minibusses. Larger buses can also be privatized upon request if needed.

2. FROM MAI CHAU
Unfortunately, right now there is no tourist or public buses doing the route from Mai Chau to Pu Luong. As the distance is only 50km, a private transfer to Pu Luong from Mai Chau is the only option. Prices are not high and we can easily organize it for you. Trip will last only 1.5 hour passing through a nice mountain road with mountain views.

3. FROM NINH BINH
Companies organizing the shuttle bus to Pu Luong from Ninh Binh do not operate daily, due to passenger frequency limits on the route. Please check availability to ensure your trip. On certain days with insufficient passengers, these companies may cancel the trip. Some travel agents offer shared rides for this route, which might be cost-effective but could involve risks such as low-quality cars and extended travel times.
For added certainty, consider two alternative ways from Ninh Binh to Pu Luong. You can take a public bus to Mai Chau and then a private transfer from Mai Chau to Pu Luong. Keep in mind that some companies offer a bus service from Ninh Binh to Pu Luong, but they still pass through Mai Chau. The bus journey from Ninh Binh to Mai Chau lasts around 3.5 hours, with an additional hour to reach Pu Luong. While not the most convenient option, it’s more suitable for on-budget travelers. The duration may further increase due to multiple pickup and drop-off points along the way. It’s advisable to avoid this option, especially for those who may experience discomfort or motion sickness.
The private transfer to Pu Luong remains the best option. You can decide about your schedule, stops on the way, pick up and drop off points. The trip will last around 3 hours.

4. FROM SAIGON and OTHER CITIES
For most travelers, and mostly international tourist, they will fly to Hanoi, spend a night and then choose one of the options mentioned above to reach Pu Luong Nature Reserve. As mentioned above, we can arrange a private car to pick you up from Noi Bai international Hanoi airport. If your travel plan is to come directly to Pu Luong, we recommend the second option and land in Thanh Hoa airport. From there, we can arrange a taxi to wait for you and take you by private transfer to Pu Luong. The trip from Thanh Hoa will last around 3 hours and prices are reasonable. Depending on your starting point in Vietnam, passing through Thanh Hoa airport is our recommended option.

Saigon – Pu Luong tour
From Saigon, some travelers will choose to come by themselves only using the shuttle bus to Pu Luong from Hanoi. We have a wild variety of activities that you can book even when you are already in the Reserve.
As mentioned above, you have two options to fly from Saigon, land at Noi Bai international airport in Hanoi or land at Tho Xuan airport in Thanh Hoa. For each option, you can choose one of our special tours.
If you are landing in Hanoi, it won’t be possible to connect with the shuttle bus to Pu Luong the same day. You will have to stay one night in Hanoi (great opportunity to enjoy the active life of the Old Quarter and taste some yummy northern dishes). The next day, you can join the Hanoi – Pu Luong tour as referred above.
If you don’t want to stay overnight in Hanoi, we can organize a private car from Hanoi international airport to take you to Pu Luong Nature Reserve to start the tour right away.
If you choose the Thanh Hoa airport to put your feet on solid ground, we will organize a private transfer to take you to Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
