DAY 1: HA NOI TO MAI CHAU (L – D)

8:00 AM: Meet the driver at your hotel in Ha Noi, and depart for Mai Chau. En route, make a stop at Thung Khe Pass to enjoy the beautiful landscape, relax, and take photos.

11:30 AM: Check-in at the homestay

12:30 PM: Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant and meet your guide.

2:30 PM: Start a cycling tour around the Mai Chau valley to visit the rice fields and explore the local market.

4:30 PM: Return to your homestay to relax.

7:00 PM: Savor a delicious dinner, followed by free time to unwind.

10:00 PM: Rest for the night at Mai Chau

DAY 2: MAI CHAU TO PU LUONG (B- L – D)

7:00 AM: Have breakfast.

8:00 AM: The driver will transfer you to Pu Luong.

8:40 AM: Begin your trekking adventure from Hang village to Eo Ken village. Afterward, continue to the main road for transportation to your Pu Luong homestay.

11:30 AM: Check-in at your homestay in Pu Luong and take a short rest.

12:30 AM: Enjoy lunch.

02:00 PM: Afternoon trek

Transfer to the Meeting Point and commence a 8km trek.

Explore Kho Muong, an isolated village surrounded by a valley and the largest cave in Pu Luong, using off-road trails via streams and mountains.

Depart from the village and head to scenic Bang village to discover remote houses with beautiful terrace fields. Return to the hotel and relax by 05:00 PM.

Evening: Culinary exploration and leisure

Join cooking class with local dishes. Enjoy a delicious dinner at 7:00 PM, followed by free time to relax. This ends your first day in Pu Luong.

DAY 3: PU LUONG (B - L - D)

07:00 AM: Wake up to refreshing mountain air. Breakfast is served.

08:30 AM: Get ready for a full day of trekking. Meet your guide at the hotel.

09:00 AM: Start a 6km hike along the iconic trail of Pu Luong, the accent is Don village famed for breathtaking paddy fields and Uoi – Lan Villages stood out with authentic life of Thai ethnic minority. Learn about the traditional sewing method.

10:30 AM: En route to Hieu waterfall, experience off-the-beaten-track moments in the jungle at Long and Doc villages, covering an estimated 6km.

For those seeking an relaxing experience, a bicycling option is available.

12:30 PM: Enjoy a short, refreshing walk to a unique waterfall within the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Have lunch surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Afternoon: Village life and return journey

Swim in crystal-clear waters and immerse yourself in local village life. Explore the mountain roads leading to the top of Hieu village.

Return to the main road and be transferred back to the hotel by 4:00 PM for relaxation.

Evening: Foot soak and leisure

Enjoy herbal foot soak at your homestay. At 7:00 PM, savor a delicious dinner, and then you're free to enjoy the evening at your own pace.

This marks the end of an enchanting day in Pu Luong.

DAY 4: PU LUONG – HANOI (B- L)

07:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast and prepare for the day's activities. Be ready by 8:30 AM.

08:45 AM: Transfer to Ban Cong and start a 2.5km walk. Cross a suspension bridge to reach one of Pu Luong's most scenic villages, where the largest stream flows through. Along the river, admire stunning landscapes, rice fields, and village life. Seek for the giant water wheels, a remarkable creation of Vietnam's mountainous ethnic minorities. Difficulty level 2/5.

Arrive at Chieu Lau dam and embark on a bamboo rafting experience. Paddle the raft upstream with locals and have fun.

10:00 AM: The raft lands on the other side of the river. Embark on another 2km trek through rice fields and villages, completing a loop trail. Meet the transfer at the main road and return to your hotel for check-out by 11:30 AM. Enjoy lunch.

01:00 PM: Prepare for the bus journey back to Hanoi. Expect to arrive at your hotel in Hanoi by 6:30 PM, barring heavy traffic. The tour concludes at your Hanoi hotel.

If you're looking to go away from tourist destinations, this tour is for you. Although we did visit some very nice places where we did find other tourists, it was only around 2-3 other people that were in the same place as us. The rest of the time, we spent walking through rice fields and hills all by ourselves. The people we met along the way were amazing, and the food was great. We would highly recommend this tour. What a beautiful place! We had the best time here, it was so relaxing! The staff were very friendly and everyone super happy! The rooms were super comfortable, cozy, and the sounds of nature were very relaxing. They served good food with massive portions! Our tour guide Quách looked after us great! Beware of the 'Happy Water' they make here, it is very tasty, smooth, and hard to stop drinking 😁 I only wish I could have stayed longer!

Pu Luong Excursion is a truly amazing travel service provider in the district. I contacted them just one evening before the desired date of day tour of pu luong region. Despite the super short notice, they managed to arrange two motorbike drivers to show us around on the next day. The quoted price is also very reasonable. Next day, the two super friendly local driver showed up on time (one lady and one gentleman) at the hotel. Though they dont speak english, but its total fine with the help of google translate. We enjoyed 4-5 various points of interest and the the scenic views around the area through the safe and exciting motorbike tour. It was indeed delightful to feel the rice field and summer breeze on the pace of rides. The lady driver was very attentive in giving me assistance when walking in cave snd waterfull. And the gentleman was a cheeful young man. Overall, we got memorable experience in this tailored day tour. We appreciate much for the efficient and professional service by Pu Luong Excursion!
