Japanese Bridge, also known as Covered Bridge, is considered as the soul of Hoi An people. The Japanese Bridge is the only ancient bridge in Hoi An city, built by Japanese merchants around the 17th century, for the purpose of serving trade and travel at that time.

The bridge is about 18m long. The Japanese bridge was built with a very unique architecture, which is “Thuong gia ha kieu“, meaning below is the bridge and above is the house. This design style is typical of Japanese and Vietnamese architecture.

This is one of the famous Hue tourist attractions, located in Thuy Thanh commune, Huong Thuy district, Thua Thien Hue province, this area is about 8 km from Hue city center.

The bridge is 18m long, 5m wide, divided into 7 main compartments. The roof is completely covered with lapis lazuli tiles. Stretching along the body of the bridge are two platforms, each side has a railing for visitors to sit and cool off. The main material that makes this bridge is wood, creating a solid and cool feeling.
